The customer praised PIC’s experience and personnel, stating that this was the best planned and executed outage that they have ever seen. “One to two days ahead of schedule I would consider lucky. Ten days has to do with pre-planning and execution,” said the facility’s Operations and Maintenance Manager.

The combined cycle plant, located in the Northeast, houses three units with Alstom GT24B Combustion Turbines, ABB VAX Steam Turbines and ABB Generators in a single shaft configuration. PIC’s project scope included a complete overhaul of the gas turbine, a minor inspection of the steam turbine, balance of plant (BOP) work and a minor inspection of the generator.
