PIC Awarded O&M Support Contract for 700 MW Coal Facility

ATLANTA (Nov. 6, 2008) – PIC is pleased to announce it has entered into an operations and maintenance support contract with Longview Power, LLC, a subsidiary of GenPower Holdings L.P., for the 700 megawatt supercritical pulverized coal-fired Longview Project located in Maidsville, W.Va.

The Longview Project will consist of a state-of-the-art PC steam generator utilizing Siemens advanced BENSON vertical tube supercritical steam technology. The steam generator will fire local bituminous coal from the adjacent MEPCO coal mine and provide steam to a single supercritical reheat turbine. The advanced supercritical steam technology will produce electricity very efficiently making this plant one of the cleanest solid fuel plants in the nation. A consortium of Siemens Power Generation and Aker Construction are building the Longview Project and Foster Wheeler is supplying the boiler.

For this project, PIC’s work includes the development of O&M administrative programs, procedures, management services and the recruitment of personnel; environmental, health, and safety programs; CMMS implementation; and commissioning oversight. Longview has a scheduled commercial operation date of early 2011.

“We are excited about being part of the Longview Project and working closely with the Longview management team,” said Bruce Wertz, Director of O&M Services for PIC Group, Inc. “We understand the importance this project has to the local community and we are committed to doing our part to bring it online safely, effectively and efficiently.”
