PMEG Announces the Appointment of Regional Director for Latin America
ATLANTA (Aug. 17, 2008) – Mr. Tom Paul, President of PIC-Marubeni Energy Group (PMEG), today announced the company has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Carlos A. Lopez as Regional Director for Latin America. In this position, Mr. Lopez will have direct responsibility for all technical and commercial aspects of PMEG business in the region.
Mr. Lopez has more than 25 years experience in the power generation industry with expertise in management, maintenance, and operation of combustion turbine power plants, both single and combined cycle technologies. He has managed the operation of several facilities with success in Peru and Brazil, including the 188-MW Termoselva power station contracted through PMEG subsidiary PIC del Peru S.A.C. Mr. Lopez has been a key player in the continuous growth of PMEG in the Latin American Region. In addition to managing PMEG’s O&M team at Termoselva, Mr. Lopez led the company’s efforts in successful signing of new O&M contracts for the Termocol combustion turbine power station in Colombia (April, 2007); and the new hydro power station in Peru owned by Peruana de Energia S.A. (June, 2007). His team is also close to signing new O&M contracts for additional power stations in Panama and Chile, expected before year end. In accordance with previous plans, PMEG continues to expand its corporate presence in Latin America with new companies and offices to support its increasing business activities in the region. As Regional Director, Mr. Lopez will guide and direct PMEG’s ever-increasing expansion in Latin America.
