The PIC Companies Announces Appointment of New Chief Operating Officer

ATLANTA (July 6, 2005) - Mr. James R. Flandreau - Chairman of The PIC Group, Inc. today announced the appointment of Matthew C. Runyon as Chief Operating Officer of The PIC Companies.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Runyon will have direct responsibility for all business units of The PIC Companies including Technical & Consulting Services, Industrial Services and O&M Services.

Mr. Runyon has over 10 years of experience in Corporate Financial and Operations Management within the Power Industry and most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for The PIC Companies. Mr. Runyon also held the role of Business Development Manager for PIC’s O&M division.

Prior to joining PIC, Mr. Runyon was Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis for GE Energy Rentals, a division of GE Power Systems, where he worked closely with the CFO in a $100MM domestic and international growth business. With GE Mr. Runyon worked as Commercial Finance Manager supporting the Latin America Contractual Services Business that added over $1Billion of LTSA/O&M Contracts during a two-year timeframe. He also served as Finance Manager for a Frame6B Cogeneration Facility in Palo Alto, California, where GE held the O&M and Electric Power/Steam contract with Stanford University.

Mr. Runyon began his career with GE in their world class Financial Management Program (FMP) after obtaining his BS degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.
