PIC Awarded Operations Support Contract for Black Mountain Generating Station

ATLANTA (Dec. 7, 2007) – The PIC Companies is please to announce it has been awarded the contract to provide Tucson Electric Power with Operations Support Services for the Black Mountain Generating Station located in Golden Valley, Arizona.

Black Mountain Generation Station is a greenfield 90 MW natural gas fired electric generating plant that will consist of two LM6000 PC Sprint turbines in simple cycle configuration. The scheduled commercial operations date for the facility is second quarter 2008.

The PIC‘s Companies responsibilities for the project include the development of system operating procedures with system descriptions for the LM6000 gas turbine systems as well as the Balance of Plant (BOP) systems; integrated plant operating procedures for the entire plant including step-by-stop instructions with descriptive notes, warnings, and cautions as appropriate; operating roundsheets containing specific instrument readings to support safe and efficient operations of the facility; and CMMS implementation of maintenance activities based on known and proven industry standards.
